any organization is to have people in it to have the ability to perform a given
assigned task and the skills to develop the organization to compete with it

Ability refers to
the individual’s capacity to perform various given tasks on a day to day basis.

It can also be qualified as the assessment of what a particular person can do.

Ability can be divided into two types

            1. Intellectual Ability

            2. Physical ability

In present world
scenario, all the organizations are looking for intellectual ability rather
than physical abilities. Intellectual abilities are the abilities needed to
think, reason, critical observation to solve a real-time problem. There are
many ways to assess a mental ability of a person, through various tests like
SAT or GMAT. Whereas the physical ability concentrates on manual labor job,

visualization is the ability to imagine how an object would look if its position

Physical ability is

is the ability to coordinate the simultaneous actions of different parts of the

Skill is an ability
to perform an activity in a competitive manner. Skills are baciallly classified
into 3 types:

Transferable/functional
skills refer to the actions taken to perform a task, extendable to other
functionality of organization. Basically, the ability to organize, promote or
analyze come under this category.

 

Personal
Traits/Attitude contributed to performance of the work. This is eventually developed
through childhood and through personal life experiences. Some of the traits can
be mentioned as follows: Patient, diplomatic, independent etc.

 

Knowledge based is
skills to know the specifics of procedures or information to perform the
assigned tasks. This is acquired through learning, training, education and experience.
